Scope and Content From the Collection:

The collection consists primarily of television scripts from the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The remainder of the collection consists of other forms of script-related material including: correspondence, clippings, treatments, photographs, as well as scripts that were never performed. Containing material from 1966-1992, the collection spans all but the first four years of Carson's tenure as host of the Tonight Show.

This collection contains photocopies of continuity scripts for nearly 200 feature films, dating from the late 1920s to the 1990s. Continuity scripts are used for editing films in various ways, such as for dialogue or music. The scripts vary in their detail and format and include ones marked as combined continuity, dialogue continuity, dialogue cutting continuity, release dialogue script, reissue, English spotting list, and feature spotting list.

Goldenson collection consists of material relating to the day-to-day operations of the American Broadcasting Company and the activities of Leonard H. Goldenson, its president from 1953 to 1986. The collection consists mainly of correspondence and artifacts, as well as scrapbooks, ephemera, newspaper clippings, photographs, VHS film, and audio.
